MILWAUKEE (Reuters) – Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump will visit North Carolina on Saturday, seeking crucial support in the battleground state just three days before the U.S. presidential election. This will mark the fourth consecutive day that Vice President Harris and former President Trump campaign in the same state, highlighting the importance of the seven key states likely to determine the election’s outcome, as opinion polls indicate a close race. #TrumpHarrisCampaign

According to the University of Florida’s Election Lab, over 70 million Americans have already voted. This turnout is below the record set in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it still demonstrates strong voter engagement across the nation.

Saturday marks the final day of early voting in North Carolina, with over 3.8 million votes already cast. The state continues to recover from the severe flooding caused by Hurricane Helene. Meanwhile, Harris plans to appear alongside rock star Jon Bon Jovi in Charlotte, the largest city in North Carolina. North Carolina and Georgia each hold 16 Electoral College votes, making them crucial swing states in this election.

North Carolina supported Trump in 2020 but also elected a Democratic governor on the same day. This outcome leaves both parties optimistic about their chances in this election.

“We have an opportunity in this election to turn the page on a decade of Donald Trump, who has spent full time trying to have the American people point fingers at each other,” Harris said at a rally in Janesville, Wisconsin, on Friday.

Trump will hold a rally in Gastonia, which is west of Charlotte, at noon (1600 GMT). Later that evening, he will return to North Carolina. He is scheduled to speak at the First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, which seats 22,000. #TrumpHarrisCampaign

“This election is a choice between whether we… have four more years of gross incompetence and failure, or whether we will begin the four greatest years in the history of our country,” Trump told a crowd in Michigan on Friday.

Moreover, early voting in North Carolina ends on Saturday, further heightening the Trump Harris campaign efforts to energize supporters. So far, over 3.8 million votes have already been cast in the state, showing high voter engagement. Both campaigns hope these visits will sway undecided voters.
