Quentin Tarantino recently declared his lack of interest in ‘Toy Story 4’ during an episode of Bill Maher’s podcast, Club Random. Tarantino, known for his critically acclaimed films such as ‘Kill Bill’, expressed his contentment with the original ‘Toy Story’ trilogy, which he believes ended perfectly with the third installment. During the conversation, Tarantino praised the original trilogy, stating, “I think there’s only one trilogy that completely and utterly works to the Nth degree and that’s A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.” He emphasized that similar to Sergio Leone’s iconic Western series, the original ‘Toy Story’ movies succeeded due to their consistent quality and satisfying narrative arc.

Tarantino remarked on the rarity of a film series maintaining quality throughout, highlighting the ‘Toy Story’ trilogy as a rare exception. “In the case of Toy Story, the third one is just magnificent,” Tarantino told Maher. He continued, “It’s one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. And if you’ve seen the other two, it’s just devastating. But the thing is, then three years later or something they did a fourth, and I have no desire to see it. You literally ended the story as perfect as you could, so no, I don’t care if it’s good. I’m done.”

Despite Tarantino’s disinterest, Disney is developing ‘Toy Story 5’ with Pixar veteran Andrew Stanton directing. The new installment will explore themes of children and technology. Scheduled for release in June 2026, it continues the beloved franchise.

Moreover, Tarantino’s comments highlight a broader debate about creativity in Hollywood. While many enjoy the Toy Story series, Tarantino disinterest Toy Story illustrates his desire for fresh storytelling. #TarantinoDisinterestToyStory
